However, our fire station is almost 70 years old and was built for the equipment and firefighting practices of the 1940s. It does not meet current seismic safety requirements for California fire stations and cannot properly accommodate today's firefighting equipment or engines.

While we have been able to make some upgrades to the station, these repairs do not address our larger problems of seismic safety.
